North Florida Regional Medical Center Announces Winners of Annual Director Awards
January 25, 2010 Gainesville, FL North Florida Regional Medical Center (NFRMC) has announced the winners of its first Annual Director Awards. The awards include the Community Service Award, Team Spirit Award and the Presidents Award. Winners of the awards were first made public during a special ceremony Saturday January 23.
The Community Spirit Award winner is Reida Squires, Director of the Catheterization Lab at North Florida Regional Medical Center. In addition to her challenging and demanding work, Squires consistently and successfully involves herself in community activities, events and organizations that also promote the involvement of the medical center in the community. Not only does Reida devote herself to community service work, she also encourages other to do the same, says Matt Davis, NFRMC Chief Operating Officer. We are proud of her and grateful she is with us.
The Team Spirit Award winner is Bob Harmon, Director of Plant Operations at North Florida Regional Medical Center. Our campus is always busy and growing, but that does not stop Bob from consistently displaying a sense of team spirit, Davis says. Bob actively works for the overall good of the medical center, and he is a great example to others of what working together as a team is all about.
The Presidents Award was awarded to two winners Susan Roland, Director of the Surgical Pavilion; and Natalie Ransom, Director of Medical, Surgical, Renal and GYN services at NFRMC. Selection criteria for the Presidents Award include characteristics of leaders who devote themselves to serving and meeting the needs of others within the organization; consistently promoting the interests of the organization and meeting facility wide goals and objectives and actively involving themselves in activities that include other departments, services or groups or staff that contribute to the overall success of the organization.
Our intention was to award one Presidents Award, but Susan and Natalie were both more than qualified to win, says Ward Boston III, NFRMC President & CEO. It is our honor to acknowledge the contributions of Susan, Natalie, Bob and Reida to North Florida Regional Medical Center and to our community overall.
